Overview

iKhalsa is designed to be a calm, respectful, and private application. We believe your devotional reading and usage habits belong to you.

Core Local & Offline Experience

• No Mandatory Account: You do not need to create an account or provide personal contact information to use the core application.
• Local Storage: Your reading progress, font preferences, daily Paath reminders, theme settings, and saved favourites are stored locally on your Android device.
• Offline Scripture Reading: Reading Nitnem Banis and Sukhmani Sahib operates entirely locally on your device without requiring an active internet connection.

Network-Enabled Features

To provide current devotional content and broadcasts, iKhalsa connects to network endpoints for specific features:

• Daily Hukamnama Sahib: Retrieves daily Hukamnama text and translations from remote scripture endpoints.
• Shabad Audio Streaming: Streams audio recordings hosted on public cloud storage (Supabase).
• Live Kirtan Broadcasts: Connects directly to streaming servers for live audio feeds (such as SGPC or SikhNet infrastructure).
• Live Video Kirtan: Displays embedded YouTube video broadcasts configured via remote Apps Script endpoints.
• Remote Gurdwara Directory: Fetches up-to-date Gurdwara profiles, contact info, images, and locations from Google Apps Script endpoints.
• External Links: Opens external map navigation (Google Maps), YouTube video apps, or social channels only when you explicitly select them.

Analytics & Tracking

iKhalsa does not serve advertising, does not include tracking or behavioural analytics SDKs, and does not log or persist listening history. Network-enabled features make direct requests to their respective content or media hosts, which receive standard network information such as IP address as part of normal internet communication.
